Lapis Software Associates, LLC announced today the successful implementation of its gemIntelligence™ sales force automation and retailer intelligence software platform for the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission. The upgrade to gemIntelligence, which includes a suite of web and mobile applications for retailers, field sales representatives and lottery employees, was accomplished in two months.
The Lapis gemIntelligence contract for the Massachusetts Lottery followed a competitive procurement process that resulted in the selection of gemIntelligence as their Retail Management solution. The Massachusetts Lottery Procurement Team determinedgemIntelligence will provide the best overall value for the Lottery and that Lapis’ experience and flexibility to provide the services the Massachusetts Lottery requires was an important factor in the selection. gemIntelligence provides the Massachusetts Lottery the flexibility of using different devices to access the system with the same intuitive user experience, including iPad tablets used by the sales representatives to desktop devices used by office personnel, and the mobile option of smartphones for quick access on the go.
“We are excited about the potential gains in efficiencies and in retailer satisfaction that will result from our upgrading to Lapis’ gemIntelligence platform,” said Paul Mandeville, Assistant Executive Director/Director of MIS at the Massachusetts Lottery. “Lapis’ expertise and the flexibility of their Agile Platform™ supported the rapid customization of gemIntelligence, including adding many new features such as instant ticket real time ordering; all in just two months.”
gemIntelligence offers lotteries and their retailers a suite of office and mobile software applications by combining a retailer portal for direct access by retailers/corporate accounts and cloud-based tools for lottery personnel to improve the delivery and consumption of the same information wherever and whenever users need it.
“We are pleased the Massachusetts Lottery can now leverage the power of the lottery industry’s most powerful sales force mobility and management system”, said Jean Lombard, President of Lapis Software Associates. “Real time access to retail information and productivity tools will help create more intelligent and productive retail relationships. That is whatgemIntelligence is all about.”
gemIntelligence provides an integrated and comprehensive platform that ensures retailers and lottery employees have direct and immediate access to the information they need. With this new “Always-On Architecture”, and a true cloud enabled design, lotteries can take advantage of the increasing cellular and Internet coverage with higher performance bandwidth. Lotteries can also meet the growing retailer demand for real time access to their sales and accounting data in the formats they desire.
“Upgrading the Massachusetts Lottery in just two months was the result of tremendous teamwork and collaboration said,” Adam Shapiro, Chief gemIntelligence Architect. “Since the Massachusetts Lottery is a recognized leader in maximizing instant ticket sales, we are particularly excited to leverage our agile development platform to turn their ideas into rapidly deployed capabilities that can increase sales and improve service to retailers, particularly for corporate accounts.”
